Have a short whistle similar to Lark. Dark throat is conspicuous feature. June 3 Cape Etolin, Nunwak Is., Alaska there birds together with Snowflakes were the only land birds seen. A dog of 20 pairs were seen on the tundra. June 5 St. Michael Alaska Common June 11 Unalakleet, Norton Is., Alaska Commonest bird. June 21–July 12 Sevoonga, St. Lawrence Is., Bering Sea, Alaska — The commonest bird on land, and apparently the only Fringillidae. along with the Snow Bunting. Invariably seen in pairs. Common at Teller. Point Hope Arctic Ocean, Alaska Aug r. Common on the tundra of
