Common—same habitat as Savannah
Sparrows thus they seem to prefer higher
altitudes. Have a short whistle similar
to Lark. Dark throat is conspicuous
feature.
June 3 Cape Etolin, Nunwak Is., Alaska
there birds together with Snowflakes
were the only land birds seen. A dog
of 20 pairs were seen on the tundra.
