539 Gilmore WATER OUZEL I 1931 Sept. 11. Unalaska, Unalaska Is., Aleutian Is., Alaska. Spec. No. 2086 was taken on the stream flowing into Gull Lake just South East of town. Sept. 19 Spec. No. 2154 was taken on the stream that flows into Suck Lagoon back of Immme's Bay. I was upstream from it when it flew and it circled off below, swinging back and flew upstream. I followed the stream up for several hundred yards before I found it. The tendency to escape this occasion was certainly upstream rather than downstream. The testicles are black. Oct. 2 English Bay, N. Unalaska Is., Aleutians. Spec. No. 2218; 2219 were taken at the mouth of the stream at the head of English Bay and one of them exhibited the following antics. At my approach around a bend it flushed about 15-yds to a small rock in the stream. When I shot, it tumbled off into the swift current and was carried rapidly down stream, aiding its progress by short jerk jerky diving motions. It sunk very low
