534 Gilman NORTHERN RAVEN O Corvus corax principalis 1931 May 24 Solgol Harbor, Solgol Is. Alaska Several seen—very wild. May 31 Unalaska Unalaska Is. Alaska Very common—may be seen from sea shore to mountains. Often in pairs. Sometimes alone or in bunches of 10-12. Even fed on peach in front of Toub, Ito as a general rule pretty wild. Seen to scavenge a lot. Have an evil reputation for eating spring ducks & duck & gull eggs. Nos. 1477, 78, 79, represent family. ♂ guarded the nest & while returning to defend it was shot by Mason. ♀ fled far over the hills at the first shot. I Returned to the spot 2-3 some days later & saw lone dead raven near nest. June 21–July 12, Levooonga, St. Lawrence Is. Bering Sea, Alaska. Not common —I saw only one or two back by the hills. One was being strenuously attacked by Parasitic & Long Tailed Jaguars. They probably nest some- where in the rocky cliffs. Saw
