Bill Shaushnikof - whose old man has been in this country for years & after whom the river in Captains Bay was named, reports that on one occasion, several years back, he saw a Magpie at Captain's Bay. The description of long tail and black and white coloration tallied. He seemed to have a previous know- ledge of the bird.
