Gilmore 1931 Pacific Fulmar (2) Fulmaris glacialis rather close approach. They are rather heavily from the carcass & one that was wounded vomited whale oil when picked up. So far I have neither seen nor heard of a breeding colony. July 21 Anchored off Point Hope, Alaska saw a light colored fulmar astern of the boat. From a now forgotten source of information, I learned that both light & dark phase fulmars have been seen this far north. Aug 24 Learned from Capt. Jones of the Cutter that there were several dozens of the birds in light phase feeding on carcass of dead walrus on ice near Wainright. Aug 28 Cruising down thru the Bering Straits in foul weather I saw two dark Fulmars at some distance from the boat. Sept. 1 St. Matthew Is. Bering Sea. As we approached this island
