506 Gilmore 1931 Mandt's Guillemot July 12, Sevoonga, St. Lawrence Is., Bering Sea, Alaska. Mr. Geist states that birds of the year remain here during winter, congregating in the open leads in considerable numbers, while the old birds go south. From notes of Commander E.D. Jones - captain of Coast Guard Cutter "Northland". Sept. 20, 1931 "Many young near Sevoonga, (St. Lawrence Is.) - very close to shore in varying stages of plumage succession". The Mandt Guillemot is very common around Sevoonga. They nest in appreciable numbers on the sea ciffs in the vicinity and may always be seen feeding along shore in water from 2-5 fathoms in dept.h. In general, they have paired up and occasionally larger flocks may be seen.
