504 Gilmore PIGEON GUILLEMOT Cephus columba 1931 May 15 - Seymour Narrows One flock of a dozen & several pairs of this bird were doubtfully identified today. The duck like posture in the water & flight with flashing white secondaries & were conspicuous characteristics. May 18 Seelog. Saw only about a dozen today. Mostly in Clarence Street. May 19 - Dey Street. dozen or so. May 21 Marnot Bay - Few pairs present. May 31 Unalaska, Unalaska Is., Alaska Common in bays & along shores of Unalaska Bay. Generally seen in pairs. When frightened away they often circle back near shore again & again before alighting some where else. Sept. 1. St. Matthew Is., Bering Sea. In the tiny bay on the east side next to Glory of Russia Cape I saw about a dozen young birds but no adults. The young had a very white fluffy appearance as they
