Gilmore ALUTIAN TERN
1931 July 5 Nome, Alaska On this
day Capt. Jones & Lieut. Comm.
Bradbury saw 4 of these birds
close to the boat as it was
anchored off Nome. They were
on the lookout for terns with
black bills & white foreheads
& the identifications was made
through exceptionally fine glasses.
They are reliable Observers and
their sight record should stand.
Aug. 24, Point Hope Alaska.
While boarding the boat today
a tern flew close by and the white
forehead was unmistakable. I did
not notice the color of the bill.
