Gilman 1931 Pacific Kittiwake. (3) Thompson. August 22. Noted occasionally every day I have been along the beach + lagoons. Today when I was back on the peninsula halfway to the hills I noted a large flock flying straight south over lagoon + bndra. They do not appear as noisy birds and I cannot recall hearing them make any kind of a sound. Aug 29 Nome, Alaska. Several around the boat today. Not nearly as abundant as in June. Sept. 24 Unalaska, Unalaska Is. Aleutian Is. Today I saw a few in the harbor while crossing over the Narrow Chambers & Expedition Is. They do not frequent the beach in front of town nor along the dock but prefer to hang out in the outer reachs of the harbor. Sept. 25 Unalaska. Today I saw at least a thousand or two of these birds in the N.W. part of the bay. The first flock of
