475 Gilman HERRING GULL (2) 1931 June 8 St. Michael Alaska none seen June 16 Nome Alaska June 21-July 12, Sevoonga, St. Lawrence St. Bering Sea, Alaska - Rather seares here - the apparently more common than Glanous Gull especially over the tundra where some of the latter have been seen. The Herring Gulls are occasionally seen flying overland, generally near water & alone, uttering their horse crees when they see a person. Swans of the gulls, taken Nos. 1679 & 1746 (3) had rod pupils so might have been Calif. Gulls. Aug 29 Nome. Several gulls of this Type were in the large flock of Glanous Gulls. Secured Spec. nos 2019 & 2020. Nov. 4 Zaikeof Bay, Montague Is., Alaska Today I saw several of these gulls in the large group of Glanous Winged Gulls. This is their first reappearance about the ship.
