448 Wandering Tattler Unalaska Sandpiper (3) beach some 200 yds behind me. When I returned, it was hiding or feeding up in the grass about 10 yds from the water's edge. It flew out over the water on rapid jerky wing beats when I was still 100 yds away. I crouched and watched. Its rapid flight soon slowed up, it made a big circle and headed straight back for me, finally flying close enough for me to shoot. Perhaps its feeding or hiding place was very desirable so, not seeing me, it returned.
