Jack Snipe
James St., Nome, Alaska
Notes from actions of Specimen 1014.
It flew in large circles (1/4-1/2 mile
in diam.) and 200 yds high. Flight
was a series of rises & downward
dips, a peculiar quavering scratch-
out sort of noise made by voice
or wings on each down dip.
After few minutes it let on old
boat. Whole took place on tundra
west of Nome - much water in
form of ponds & seepages present.
