Gilmore 1931 Pigeon Hawk [illegible] Oct. 3. English Bay, W. Unalaska Is., N. Aleutian Is., Alaska. Today I got three shots at one, and that the military reception was mighty hot it obviously wasn't lethal. I was standing in some beached kelp at the shallow head of the bay when Mr. Falcon came flying low along the shore thru a flock of seagulls whom he did not wholist. After one shot he circled back and two long range shots only served to definitely make up his mind to get out and stay out. The Aleuts at the berraberi say that they see one every so often. See duck! Stale!!
