332 Gilmore YELLOW BILLED LOON (2) (1931) walk down to Cape Thompson & back I saw 7 or 8. There was one group of four that were feeding about 300 yds off shore. Aug 23 - Saw some occasionally as I visited the Shore - always out of range - sometimes singles & doubles. Said by Bob Tuckfield, native informant, to be common around Marpitt Inlet. April 1974 was brought to the boat by Charles Brower at Pt. Barrow. It had already been shorn. Eschscholtz Bay Kotzebue S't Alaska Aug. 27 Saw several of these large loons as we went mid Elephant Point in motor launch. They were too far away to see the color of the bill, but were unmistakably the large type. From notes of Commander E.D.
