Gilmore 1931 MALLARD (2) of the small streams are often noticeable by the piles of droppings, much like those of chickens. Oct. 25. Akutan, Akutun Is., E. Aleutians. Scarce in the marshes at the head of the bay tho probably the whaling station nearby has much to do with it. Probably more common (at least so reported) at Hot Springs Bay.
