Gilmae EMPEROR GOOSE (4) 1931 Oct. 15 Akutan Bay, Akutan Is. E. Aleutian As I came down off the ridge today in a heavy S. E. rain storm I saw about a dozen geese fly up the bay & the head. Their flight down wind was veering and wavering. There was no mistaking the identity of the light gray bodies. The next morning, I went down to the ponds and creeks where I supposed I might find them, but they were not there. Evidently they had stopped only long enough to get enough fresh water and then went out again. Oct. 24 Akun Straits, E. Aleutian Is. While hunting in the rocky, reef lined narrow strait today we saw two flocks of Emperor Geese, one of five and the other of three indiv. dividuals. Both flocks were sitting on the wet rocks adjacent to the water and as the flock of five took wing upon our approach, we successfully crowed up to the flock of three and secured all. Hugh and Paul Mac- Luskan were my companions in the
