614. Tree swallow. About 50 were seen. [697.] Pipit! One shot May 30. 722a Western Winter Wren - One of these little wrens was building her nest in a bunch of moss about 20 feet above our camp. We never saw both birds at the same time. 728 - Red-breasted Nuttatch. A pair supposedly had a nest near camp. 741 - Chestnut-backed Chickadee. 749a. Sitka Kinglet These two species seem to be every where you go. Not many in one place but we rarely go all day with- out seeing one. 763a Northern Varied Thrush. As many as a dozen birds were seen carrying food to their young.
