5-15-29 Jatropha multifida l. p.211 Fl. Waterville Peduncle &m Fl. in Compound Cyme 3"in across. 2 small lanceolate bracts at each folium. Only central lowest fl (mossy in young fl?) seems ?. All other parts [illegible] calyx enrolled. Petals slightly more yellowish inside. of the pedicel 1/2 in, calyx articulated with pedicel 1/2 in high, cleft 1/2 way into 5 lobes. Fl. 1/2 in across, the 5 petals free, yellowish. lobed. Stamens 7 in all fl counted, and 6 in ?. Rudimentary organs. ? filersile, calyx as above, stigma sessile 2 parted with each div. lobed. Petals lost fallen. Ovary, angled, 2 celled with 1 ovule on ap. axile placenta in each cell developing. Perhaps there had been more ovules or perhaps ovules being scanty the parts thought for undeveloped ovules were attachments of ovules to placenta. Xanthus extremely delicate ? 5-15-29 Ornithogalum Onion-like plant at Sunnylands (see 3-11-27, 2-27-29) Noargins ? inflo. Of 2 br collected 1 was 3"4 in x 1/8 in most length tapered to 3/8 in but tip bluntish the other 2 4 7 in x 5/8 in. No evident mid rib but middle of slightly rounded or narrowed on back. Date for Northocordum frappara in flat this time are not more than 16 in x 3/8 in. 5-15-29 Northocordum frappaurs, Kewith p.70 Fl. No Rd Paget just west of Waterville nearby for brs. Filaments broad enough to touch at base, rather abruptly narrowed at apex. Sepals hollow 1/2-15 in, cludes 1/8 in inside. The 2 fruits each 1/2 in ovals, 1 sheathing the other but not separated to base. Fl 7/8 in high, campanulate ? not
