5-16-29 Well advanced fr from same plant 1/2 in x 3/8 in almost cylindrical but indented about middle rather narrowly tapering to base, tip with scattered blunt hairs. 2 cells, 2 valved borders (all developing) 8 in each cell, flat forms of slender hairs. Clearly not stipitate. Duff auxiliary, the sterile solitary or on slender foliar bracts, with small bracts at each pole. Ruellia? there was once a flm in each fol. V. inflo cymes (this compound infl studied from St James only) 10-12 floral, except sttll later at base of glabrous except on line on meeting bases of two. These rather bluntly angled.
