4-17-29 Lupinus Hartwegii, Lindl. Right Ex BMJC.P.408 In spite of remarks on h. pubescent this seem correct for reasons underlined. But calyx lobes not cap-long pointed. Fl is 3/4 in. from top of pedicel to tip and almost or quite as wide. Calyx has 2 main lobes, the upper gibbous (or swollen) at base v-notched at apex, the lower entire, these both 1/2 in in the upper slightly less from base of pedicel to tip, separated to about 3/4in. base. Below the sinus on each side a subulate organ (are there only 2 lobed?) about 3/8 in long. The stamens alternately have long anthers v short anthers, 4 of the short antherd stamens being longer than the the 6 monodelphous. Style a little longer than longest stamen with little tuft of hairs around terminal capitate stigma, the longest hairs on inside giving somewhat oblique effect. Whole plant pubescent and hairy. gy with longer white hairs.
