BM CPC 697 Agri Ex Stamens almost equal but 1 anterior v 1 posterior a defile longer than the others. The 2 posterior an filaments leaning toward base the other 2 filamentate glabrous. The staminal scale very low in tube posteriorly. Corolla leaning in throat. A glandular puberulent above. Lin glabrous.
Two seen whorled in upper part ? infl. Lower two opp but small two in upper part of inflo sometimes more fo distance 5's when there are 5 flori whorl
4-17-29 Eschscholzia californica, Cham
BM CPC 308 Agri Ex Anther cells flat and broad filaments orange & purple brown at tip. Anthers orange.
Pistils fell with stamens attached.
4-17-29 "Anaclisus capensis" labeled Agri Ex (see earlier) Fls 1/3 in diam., scales in throat white v very hairy (more so than in Cynoglossum), stamens not visible, turning brown on withering buds only faintly if at all pinkish and no red margin. But flores in compact 1-sided clusters not noticeably opening in pairs so far but not E. Sphenalis & pedicels short as petiole & sympodiiflora. Calyx 5mm long tubular, the lobe not deep, v standing upright over young fr. Corolla glabrous, seem to have ridge at base. Anthers longer & more pointed than in Cynoglossum v
