"Lavatera trimestris" see earlier. St. hirsute as are pet. x ped. Lo to 4 in acros to apex, pubescent both sides crenate (laths rounded). Fl 2 in numde. petals rose pearly finely striped with white, dark rose or clay- cloth suff white bars on each side of claw. (Claws not long narrow as desc L. assurgens flora. Kellogg.) Pubescence montside of involucle & calyx stary. Pubescence on pet. underside of lob obscurely starry in part otherwise sample! Staminial filaments bends into starness from middle upward. Petals show no signs of being re- fled after anthesis" 5-12-29 Ft. Jay College! 4-17-29 Dimorphotheca aurantiaca D.C. BMG C.P. 780 Egri Ex. St+613 in ex. St slightly pubescent above slender, 1 in or trifurcate, serrate, lo 2 x 3/8 in, glossous, low toothed lobz. Needs solitary or terminal ped. 2 in acros, the disk compasitively small. Rays a soft orange, slightly purplish on claw papilae with red like hairs on claws at base with dark tips to base of blade, &. Blade florage strong of lips anthers purple making center dark except for bright orange pollen narrowly lanceolate. Invol bracts about 1 series, inside edges scarious margined, glandula with purplish dots. Petal lobes 3-sided unmarkedly corrugated in large notches, disks abiences flat with margel border. Disks flo hairy at base on tube like hairs on rays. x Perhaps its only that div. of cells show very plainly. 4-17-29 Solvis Selarea L. BMG C.P. 639. Cagri Ex.
