Seeds almost obovoid with appendage of a prominent white ridge on one side (is this a car- uncle?) Seed brownish at a rather advanced stage. Lfts 8-13 in high & in all cases unfolding the right. Lfts pinnate, whole in 3's or occasionally simple lvs issues from stem. Lft's 7-9, the lateral ones opp. almost sessile, the terminal one stalked. Lft's oblong to 5 1/4 x 1 1/4 in, somewhat falcate the mid rib often markedly to oblique center. Tips acute, base rounded Edges almost entire but some toothed & others were seen on tree. Peduncle pendant bearing racemes of up to fls (2-6) with pedicels curved up as fls stand upright. Calyx in high tubular, 3-to 5-lobed Corolla broadly campanulate but asym- metrical. To 5 lobed 2-lip'd. Chambers 4: fleshy disk studied to 1/6d. Ovary 2-celled with many ovules or parietal placentas.
