Transcription
"Proglauus. Pet enlarged at base & petiolate 1/4 in. short with same aspect as the enlarged base of petiole. Lfts ovate, lower pair 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 in., the rest about the same size 6x2 1/2 in. entire, sub-acuminate but blunt at apex, obtuse or rounded at base. Blades petiolate minutely pubescent (not evident to eye or touch) firm, dark green & somewhat leathery look- ing above, lighter below; the many pinnate veins close together, almost parallel & noticable esp. as if dry. 4-15-29 "Solanum Eurybrifolium" (labeled) Agri. Stat. Infldt just no of Fredericks. Trunk 2' Indian tobin high with many lopping prickly branches. St Plant peculiar; starry pubescent (not rusty) even to outside of corolla. St pet, peduncles & calyx & base stem flor armed with sharp, direct yellow spines. Lx2 system outline 3 x 2 1/2 in deeply pinnatifid into linear acute & simple lobes, the rachis striped; corolla white or blue on same plant (perhaps opening white turning blue); 1 3/4 inches. Plant not observed elsewhere in Bermuda. 4-15-29 Duranta repens, L. p 817 BM.Q.P.632 Flgds Sth at no east corner of avenue. Also 4-19-29 Corolla pub- escent. X 4-15-29 Raphiolepis nudiflora var. De 3-21-29 Plant labeled "Chrysotaleum pello-carpa" #168. Agri Stat no of entrance to dwelling. Fl & fr.
