"Midrif ending on both surfaces but other veins very obscure
at apex, narrowed to acute serrate base, widest above middle, upper half sharply dentate, lower entire, margin ciliate, surfaces glabrous. Dark green above, lighter below, both surfaces (esp the lower) with minute white glandular dots (20x) Fls.
1-4 (when 3 or 4 usually some buds within unopened) in each axil on slender peduncles about 3mm a less long. partly to break the
Calyx lobes linear 3mm - 5mm, the anterior ones shorter, glandular ciliate. Corolla gamopetalous, 9mm long lobes as long as tube, regular except that the 2 posterior lobes are a little less deeply divided than the others & curl back a little more strongly for full anthesis when this 10mm wide. Stamens 4's (not didynamous) can put 10 fls studied (with some stam 3 mm or less developed, Staminal). alt with corolla lobes. Filaments attached near base of tube. Anters white, visible in throat but not exerted, shaped thus ↑↑ with fat. 2 superior at sinus. Ovary superior 2 1/2mm long, 2 celled with 2 ovules on axile placenta, the division bet. cells being in anterior-posterior line of style acute than filaments. Beyond a 2-lobed thickening of style, white projects slightly beyond anthers but not exerted.
Corolla in bud has posterior lobes outside of anterior ones.
Perhaps (partially) Set Deroiflularaceae
Twigs collected for study have scattered hairs & what seems (20x) like porrect glandular dots.
4-15-29 Studied again. Europe seeds are strong & show signs of seed being roughened up simply.
