3-20-29 Ramunculus parviflorus, L p179 Portuguese path to Payet Marsh. 3-20-29 Pittosporum undulatum, Vand. Payet Marsh. Fl. (celj a few apart) and young shoots. Young shoots & twigs glandular pubescent. Young br. clustered at ends of twigs 21/2-4in long, the twig covered with dead. monos lf-like scales. Scales borne irregularly to 1in x 7/16 in, concave & overlapping on twig, thickest at apex, nar- rowed at base, with broad veined mid. rib & transparent whiteish downy, glandular ciliate margins. Young brs. crinkled bar surface linear bldr. 3-20-29 Peperomia septentrionalis, S Brown p94. Fr. Payet Marsh. Fl showing the 2 stamens, & but no "brush-like dust" in stigmata, ovary being merely pointed at apex. Lns (20x) show minute scattered black dots beneath, & a narrow, transparent edge which is partially revolute & can be felt by fingernail as a ridge. 3-20-29 Vine Payet Marsh. Des of fl. perhaps Luncea japonica, Thunb. What seems to be young palents of this leaf some [illegible] serrate lobed. 3-21-29 Prob. L. japonica from home opp. Pomander State has far smaller lobes, less hairy, shorter petioled but general effect & structure the same. 3-20-29 Chionococca ternudiana, S. Brown, p. 262 Edge of Payet Marsh. Unique fr. Lns with edges somewhat revolute, lateral veins not focuse.
