Pedicels of young pods spreading at almost rt. angles. 3?in B.F.? If B it must be B. integrifolia, C.F. Schulz pf 57 but not at all sure. * few scattered stiff hairs on pedicls v.loo. 3-12-29 Raphanus Raphanistrum, L p153 F& young fr. (P&S. near St. Annas Church desq[?].) near 3/4 in. perhaps elewhere. F. yellow purple veined & purple tinged at tips of petale Calyx lobes less inflated than R. sativa. 3-13-29 The one pod well formed is 1 3/4 in ov all with beak 3/4 in, constricted between the two seeds but not grooved. L. ovatum yellow green than below. 3-13-29 Raphanus sativa, L p154 F& advanced fr. F. white. Calyx lobes direct to eye. Fr. not grooved, in some cases so much constricted bet. seeds as above. In no case as beak as proportionately long as above. 3-9-29 Aleurites moluccana, Willd p219 St. Georges Public Garden tho' to be "Butternut" by Mr. Swainson. L only collected 8 1/4 in long x 9 1/2 in wide 5-nerved ?5 lobed maple lf-like in effect. [illegible] the lobes nearly entire, slightly undulate. The acute sinuses round base on date. Petiole 16 in long, with 2 glands at apex and rusty stellate pubescence at base. See B.M. C.P.455 This tree was in fl 2-2-29 but more collected then. (See 4-28-29.)
