perfuscent. Thistle each of subtended by
flower stalk and 2 white lateral bracts.
Perianth 1/2 and a half more ample.
Red fine purple mottled in lighter shades
3 stomata, very intense (perfuscent)
Clearly Rudaceae.
(Each of the 8 were subtended by 2 bracts)

Hairy reddish white lilac with many of the (stamen with a light red pollen back) and many femoral bracts (?). These all are for the whorles, to "3 together found on the one plant seen. involucres
Of 6 subtended by 2 bracts which table encloses a small bulbous member which might have been considered & except that Britton suggests otherwise. Also both Hoke and I examined seem to have rudimentary ovary in center. Determine effect of heat smelt like E. splendens.

The negro unburden lot gave much information as to use of plants for medicine as follows:-
1. Lemon grass, fenne? [illegible]
2. Plantain (Plantago major); "Sueberle" (Planceolata and several species above were slightly tortuous at some intervals, feluda of Virginia); "Mallots"
(Melva parvifolia) and common coal grass take root and few from sun when they used drink for cooling blood.
3. Trumfitta semiflora called
"Lady's-spider-week-of-glass." Because most as test by turning to subject to scirritated, feed in some way by falling hair "Rubart" spelling uncertain...
