7-31-34 Achillea moschata Jaeg. Cote II 352; Box 169 = Q. Erba-rotta All. asp. moschata. Vaccare SWKI 682 Fl. Engadine of under surface of slow ray dist hairs (20x) but to eye look glabrous. Dts only as visible to eye and very plain (5x). Ill (Cote) & Box good. Recept. Indered dark brown. Receptacle scales acute a px + dark in fully opened fls do not show hence dist. Head yellowish. [8-5-34 Fl. Engadine .30% from one root to 18cm stalk] 7-31-34 Achillea nanus L. Cote II 352; Box 169; SWKI 682 Fl. Engadine Ill (Cote) good. The simple, compact umbellate infl. makes ident sure. The broad margins of invol bracts more nearly heal than in A. moschata but less striking because invl is wooly-haired. Receptacle scales blunt at apex and very dark so that (a.t.2, disk fls only beginning to open) the disk of head is variegate (black & yellowish). Rays 1/2 as long the involucre (SWK) 7-31-34 Senecio abrotanifolius L SWKI 696; Box 389 Fl. En- gadine. Rays 15mm long, rich orange. St. strongly ridged glabrous. Heads 6 making almost flat-topped infl. St. as sent, 3in long w/ 1lf besides those subtending peduncles. These deeply cut into narrow lines, rather distant segments, the lowest segs on the lf again somewhat cut. Fr. glabrous.
