Scales of ♀ flowers narrow & acuminate (C. lepta broad & distinctly acorned) Achene 2 mm long (C. lepta 3 mm long) ♂ spikes 2 or 3; ♀ spikes 1 or 2. In one case (out of 3 spec. col.) the lower ♀ spike has peduncle 2 cm long and its bract here a sheath of 1cm. In other cases bracts are hardly, if at all, sheathing.
