nearly sessile (SVK contra. Cate v BH & II disagree as to size flos). Most entire, a few slightly crenate. Lowest bracts are 4 x 2 cm whence much longer than flo. The uppermost bearing opened fls are 1½ cm hence only slightly longer than flo. Possibly the shorter bracts now subtending buds would be no longer than flo. All the bracts except the very lowest are very def. 3-lobed (Cate v ill 4) the middle lobe being much broader & longer. This clear v locus (not subalpina as fol. pyramidalis SVKI) makes L. genumeisis seem the best guess. Bracts the same green as the los. Thes does not resemble either # 297 or 298 of BH & II - this c.olla idea seems nearly as in # 298. 9-23-34 Centranthus germanica Willd Cate II 561, Rck 216 B8H 314 WII 255, SVKI 532 Fl. Brought by Dr. Rendel from "the pears". Note: 2 of the scaly lobes are always ± larger than the other 3 as desc BH & II - this effect is not like L. Campylotrichis. Of the 16 fls on the one plant one had calyx and corolla 4-lobed [9-30-34 Fl on scaly slope on west side of trail leading from to Sanderson.
