(Wolfson on at.) 8-19-34 what seems to be underdeveloped lf-bd at + ½ in intervals from base. ½ at. Strkt tip root is 6 in long and much thickened at top. The interesting item about the specimen is that the nut pulled up easily with the root, attached to the plant & seeming intact. When nut was opened the “meat” looked fresh and edible. 2 lfts (2 under- elvelop.) 5, thinner than on adult trees and coarsely serrate (would not have been recognized a walnut leaf.) 8-19-34 Acer campestre L.; A. opulifolium Vill; A. platanoides L.; A. pseudoplatanus L.
