398 A 7-24-20? Agrostis borealis Martin A/33, BV/B/DW Left bank Harry's Bk bet F & P White Cabin. Branches spreading divided nearly above middle. Spikelets purple 2&1/2 (or a little more) mm long, the ray glumes and awn exserted 1/2 mm being 3 mm total length inserted about middle. Lemmas with minute tufted hairs on each edge at base. Culms tufted slender, 18 in. to top? infl. Dried basal hro, blunt, narrow & curly Culm tipy almost to top, bro 2-3in long 2+ mm wide (nerv more than 3mm). Culm smooth striped (20x) bro scabrous both sides, sharp branches acerbous. Ligule 2&1/2 mm? Upper sheaths very long, the one below it shorter than internode. Lemma a little shorter than rays acute & not quite equal glumes. Palea minute. B 399 7-24-20? Agrostis Left bank Harry's Bk bet F & P White Cabin. Rills in H, pen- ciles only partially exserted & branches clearly spangled ( tho the whole somewhat nodding) Spikelet purple 3 mm long glumes very acute (but more so than A) lemma 2 mm with awn 2/3 mm long insert ed well above middle overlapping lemma very slightly & not at all exserted & awn [illegible] hardly present) Sheaths all overlapping. Blades 4-5 in. long and ?1ere 3mm wide. Palea seems lacking Perhaps but I there are B. hyginalis TSP.
