valvate bracts. All in white veiny beneath (2x)
& st mid versile hs almost to top (the plant ? grows
in branches while bear fle bearing 1-2 small
hs beside the 3-4 smaller ones that are invol-
mere. Consider C. discolor but note no prickles re-
curled. St def ridged & noticeably hairy below
(not very rough to touch) more nearly glabrous
above.
