Pr 347 7-13-30? Carex intumescens Rudge & 258 BOBI 439 Fl. almost ripe. Culm not stout, 3-angled but not thin-edged, rough-like, somewhat tufted on running root-stock. Basal sheaths reddish. Culm naked in middle with 2 spikes no shortly be- much spikes & overtopping them. The spike slender, 1 cm on peduncle a little longer. Terminal but nearly hidden by 2 spikes. 2 spikes each 7-fld upright, nearly deciduous. Perigynia inflated, green, rounded at base at most 18-nerved, 13x5 mm, narrowed to 2- tooth. Leaf scales about 5 mm long, green at mid nerve more or less prolonged into rough awn with much broken deciduous margins. In spike the lowest scales rough around nerve which is prolonged into rough awn but the scales smooth very acutely. Spice pressed had longer & more conspicuous m spike v 2 spikes 4-6 fld. 348 Pr 7-14-30 Habenaria orbiculata Torr & 309: Lysip- Rydt. -BVBI555 Fl. Strip woods west of little F.& P. marsh to 200 ft path near its crest (where there is a large aero-path).
