325 6-27-30 Carex Advance? f?. Black Duck Marsh. Sts 2-3 together stoloniferae. Stems embedded in moss thinning out roots & branches. Culm about 13 in high, deliform, perhaps obtusely angled, smooth. 2-3 voluted, stiff as culm, solidly stalked (not in- white) smooth. Base of culm with much stiff brown sheathing (old etc?). Spike 1 terminal about 1/2 in long. Many spikes shortly stoloniferae well about 4 f? flowers others mostly f?. Scales of the thin light brown with acuminated edges, acute. Scales of f? fls firmer red-brown with lighter edge, nerves not conspicuous, obtusian perigynia. Perigynia horizontal (making at any effect when seen from above), brownish, with valves thin green serrulate margins with shortly bidentate beaks. Luterside convex obscure by nerve entire length, inner side flat with many sterile nerves towards base only. Base youngy & rounded. Beakine blunt at apex, wider below middle, narrow at base, plump.
