? Carex limosa L. G 239, BV B I 416 young fr.
As remembered when studied (7-21) thus the preceding spec were C.l. east side of R.R. in bog side where ditch goes under track just beyond first bit of scrub (Red maple)
were thought to be the same.
Differences by one's eye when studied are:
C.l. glauca
C.l. lowermost bracts will
C.l. pedicels or spike appear like culm.
C.p. perigynia tapered to very almost neck-like base.
But C.l. too not involute but tend to be more coriople-cate than in C.p. Cl. lvs. to 2,5mm wide which agrees with BV B, not with G.
NB. Scales on C.p. mostly fallen but seem to fit these.
Scales on C.l. broad and acute or almost cuspidate (BV B) v only slightly longer than perigynia.
In C.l & spikes more inclined to be erect than in C.p. (but Cl not yet ripe)
[C.l. 8-14-37 s-troniferous, not at all tufted. with Carex gynocrates & junceus stygins.
junera brevicaudatus Fernald G 274. Cl. with J. can-densis & 7-28-37 Differences very evident.
