Eriophorum viridi-carinatum Fernell G197 BvBI325 Fz in marshy spot beside path with Cisium muticuum. Eriophorum angustifolium Rott. G197 BvBI325 Ditel by R.R just north of Dump Pool station, young fr. Here begins a new dispensation on the subject of these 2 species which clarifies difficulties 1937 & may invalidate conclusions of previous years. In general appearance E.a is the stouter stiffer more sedge-looking plant with larger more handsome buds. In E.a. its stiffleaves they dry tend to bend at about middle; in E.v. its less stiff (more like grass) v can be deflexed abruptly at base of blade. Ea has dark sheath invol. lvs and dark guidles atop [sheaths] upper & lvs (some lower ones too). (R.B.K is assuming that this accords with Go desc. & that BvB are misleading) E.v has no dark guidles but R.B.K suspects that fore- vious specimens with dark guidles on involute sheaths.
