Pr 228-a 6-4-30 Veronica serpylefolia. 203. Rut Rt bank M Bardellio Blk P.B near R.P bridge. Prominent v much branched, rooting almost to inflorescence. Lvs close together, distinctly petioled, growing smaller & more nearly sessile below infl. St minutely puberulent (almost glandular?) not at all glandular. Effect quite dif from V. 6-7-30. x 6-4-30 Claytonia caroliniana. Michx # 388, BvB II-38 Fl. under Salix A.A. vicinity. Petals with touch of yellow at base of blade. No "boat" (BvB) ln found. St bears 1 pair of petioled lvs the largest being 1½ x 5/8 in. Pr # 229 6-4-30 ? Viola pallens, Brainerd # 584, BvB # 556 Fl. Rt bank Bardellio in marshy place along west side R.R track. Petioles & peduncles commonly evenly long with alert dashes of red. Lvs globose to sometimes petiolate with scattered hairs All lvs (at least 2 v.s.) tend to have lower lobes rolled inward. Scape stands well above lvs. Of 11 flo examined, I had lateral petals entirely beardless & 4 had very sparse short beard. Underside of calyx has fleckings with red dots as in calyx.
