Roofus. Very frequent & conspicuous in same marsh
as above. Cyperaceae. Leaves glaucous blue or gray
green, 4 mm wide at base, tapering to acuminate tips,
stiffly erect, glabrous, smooth on edges at base but rough
ened on edges midrib above, corduplicate. From
base of plant underground runners with scales
(not overlapping) 3/4 in long. Plant frequent in places
too wet to collect. Roots have numerous sweet-potato
shaped tubers 7 x1 mm on short stalks (these bear white
frod running thru them but seem too def in shape
to compact be anything but tubers.
