Branches purplish v sharply scabrous. Pedicels appressed. Fl. Spikelet 3 mm, glumes unequal very sharply pointed, lightly scabrous from about 1/3 distance above base. Lemmaawnless, finely toothed at blunt apex, with tiny tufts of hairs on marginal face. Lvs 2 mm wide, rough on margins v abrs. The upper blade extends abvrs base & infl. One spikelet base deumbent v rooting at 2 lowest nodes.

Inner perianth parts hardly longer than outer (Bx8) & cap- sule def. Longer than perianth. Inff 2-3 staminal, lowest versatile, others erect, in both v delicate, erect.
