8-1-30 glume with broad scarious edges, 3 nura close to. gettier, hrapid on keel, longer than lemma but shorter than palea. Lemma thin 1-nerved, slight ly notched at apex, with minute hairs above. Palea broad, longer than lemma v 2nd gluma, its 2 nerva not conspicuous. Spikelets (2-3) ap- pressed so that infl appears simple. S. glabra Muhl var alternifolia Meez #143 one in S street Roth BVBI 224. Arena only possibility (but note discrepancies) Lemma longer than first glume. 8-1-30 Plantago decipiens Barneoud #145, = P. maritima L. BVBI 247 f=LVFr. S. Xing beach. One plant had filiform, hs 1mm wide but clearly this with 4 Stamens. 444 = 236 8-4-30 Salix Same as 7/30 says Allen aestucae. Young growth green slightly puberulent with short rusty hairs for film glabrous yellowish green above, glaucous beneath varying in shape from obovate to oblanceolate to almost ovate, narrowed gradually to sharply acute point v usually acute at base; teeth low v sireq. more at base 3-4mm long. Petioles 1/2 in. Stalks narrowly to widely falcate from very small to 12 mm. Flawd forther both sides.
