1/4in. Stipules small, narrowly linear acum-inate, axil persisting but drying v. red. de-

at base, lateral nerves strong (several). lf serrate
but tip of tooth turned inward so that only its
rounded back is visible to eye...Lfs dark green
above, somewhat lighter veining below, glab-
rous except poss. on veins beneath. R.H. bank
