Petals not more than 7 mm long. But note: as indec. J P. nigra"lvs doubly crenate-serrate, the stell gland tipped w often 1or 2 red glands on petiole at base of blade". But calyx lobes entire! Stipules ovate-lanceolate v deeply toothed. Ovary longer than broad. [See 7-15-29 6-28-29 Rhipanthus Crista-galli L. G 735, BvB III 223. Bud. Meadows on st bank of Basaltic Blk just above Camp. Viola pallens Brainerd G 584, BvB II 556 Fl. Basaltic, south end of Ford road (then swampy road just beyond R.R track).
