Plant conspicuously grayish green with short incurved hairs (hairs A longer plentiful enough to account for color) & spright or decumbent, very leafy & branched. St. purplish. Loos appx oval, sessile lanceolate, entire, largest 3 1/8 x 5/4 in but mat loo 1/2 x 7/6 in. Margins not revolute. Capsules short pedicelled & 2 1/6 in w/8 hairs like rest of plant. Cona white. Seeds keeledge and (38x) minutely roughened in lines. F. molle Torr & 576 = E. strictum Nuttall BvBH 692 seems best guess. 9-16-27 Betula Fr. Prob bet.
