9-14-27 fasc. P. opulifolium var intermedius (Also 9-18-27) 9-16-27 Populus candicans Ait. &329 BvBI 588 Nth of fr. Whitecliff, Crabbe River. Bark smooth v papular-like above, rough below. L to 4+ x 3 in, decidedly cordate. Smooth, ciliate with short hairs. Petioles finely v slightly pubescent on upper, channelled side. Short wings (bearing buds) slightly hairy. Buds resinous volarize. Scales slightly long-hairy. "Bam" R. McT. 9-16-27 Rosa virginiana Mill &497. BvBI 583- Fr. Crabbe River near Whitecliff, st. prickly below but not on young growth. Infra stipular spines 1 to 2 slightly curved or straight. L to 7 with often an add. pair (much smaller ones). Stipulae narrow serrate, sometimes with lft-like appendages. Calyx lobes hairy inside, glandular hispid outside, very long, often broadened at end v often bearing lfts or otherwise cut.
