Seed enclosed in a very loose, brown, translucent, reticulated sac. 8-19-29 Fragaria virginiana-Duchesne G479, BvBII 260 Fls. Trip from Highlands Camp to mouth of Butter Rk (also 8-11-29 Harry's Rk near White's Cabin). Achene embedded, scape shorter than lvs. Infl umbelli. form v calyx lobes erect. Fls. with reddish, almost purplish, pericarp looks very much like a straw- berry.
