3vBIII 327 #55 7-27-29 Viola 1 fading flv several plants (8) which part taken in gravel on island opp. mouille - downstream some 20 - -6 Trout Bk. Plant glabrous except for tuft of few hairs in axils (some of the keel or upper side) low. Fl. blue with white (bluelined) center. All petals beardless. Fl. large 1 5/16 in from tip of lower petal to end of spur (but spur hardly 3/8 in long). Spur round. Lower petal shallowly 2-lobed at apex. Cleistogamous flo on ascending peduncles, ovoid. Low. cordate, basal sinus rather broad. [ V. nephrophylla Greene G581, BvBII 55 ] #52 7-27-29 Pyrola asarifolia Michx G639, BvBII 670 Fl. Under trees in field at mouth of Trout Bk (numerous there - spot not esp. wet or swampy) Petals very pale pink, the pinkish effect heightened by pedicels & stamens. Most low distinctly cordate not rounded at base. Low only found near F. d. P. Cabin 7-24-29). Plants 6-8 in. high. Fls 3/8 in across. Anther sacs with slight protuberances at end opp. openings. Low. to 1 1/2 x 1 3/4 in. Scapes bracted.
