1-3 lvs. [wh]ile the later lvs are finely cut (as in all Costa), grayish v soft to touch because of the fine spreading pubescence (underside glaucous, v glabrous except on mid-rib.) The first lvs of the season however vary greatly from simple & almost entire, strap shaped and 6 to more mm. wide, to deeply crenate, v lobed to 1-pinnate with segments still wider than in the later lvs. These first lvs look slinky v glabrous but usually are somewhat pubescent, esp. on the edges. 3-13-35 Buxus balearica Lank Kt II/65, Bar 421. Bud Collected by E.W.K. about 2 weeks previous, Formentora. Found by E.W.K. on the Roca Blanca & toward the shore to the north of the R.B. in well established stands, and also "across it on the ridge west of Cala San Vicens c. Pollenza. 3-13-35 Erigeron canadensis L. Kt II 448, Bar 239 Dead stalks but unmistakable Formentora. 3-18-35 Polygonum maritimum L. Kt I 437; Bar 405; Costa III 208, BvH 308, Box 274 Fl Formentora! Beach west of hotel). Sure.
