at each angle. Pedicels 1, mm.

Fl. From Mrs. Kennedy, Valdemosa (Sa Comuna) 3 1/2 cm
high. St vis covered with stalked, starry-branched hairs
to near top, but uppermost of caly, ginfl contracting
by glabrous; calyx not only a few branched hairs at top,
but also minute glabrous and minute straight
appressed hairs. Basal lvs in a thick rosette, the large
10x5 mm (many smaller) obovate, some short petioled,
others sessile, all with low teeth. St lvs reaching to
base ginfl; sessile, oval-oblong, flattened as much as 3/8 in,
rounded at tip (as were basal lvs) less rounded at
base but not at all auriculate or clasping. Ginf
now 7 mm high but shows signs of later branching.
Pedicels now 3 mm. Sepals 3 mm, elevated just at base,
1/2 long, rounded at apex and with white edges as view
ed from inside. Petals cream-white shading green-
gy gradually
towards growing into claw, 4 x 1 mm (or possibly
larger since these meas. taken from adv. bud). A true
petal found in a spec. was 6 x 1 mm with base of claw
very slender. Petals rounded or oblique-truncate at
top, entire. Pod will be longer than wide (dry now
2 1/2 mm. Too young to study otherwise. Flower is
at side of rosette lvs; one st has been broken off
from another part of rosette & possibly others are
to appear.
